Does anyone know if online "paid" survey sites are for real ?

I've stumbled upon a few websites that claim to "pay" you to complete online consumer surveys. Some of them ask for money up front before giving away details. Has anyone tried this and are they a rip off ?

Does anyone know if online "paid" survey sites are for real ?
I am actually a member of a couple of survey sites that are legit, and I have been paid by them. Not tons of money but I've made as much as $15.00 for one survey. There are a bunch that are not. All of the ones that are not legit will ask for money up front, do not sign up for those. Then there are some that only pay you if you complete offers. The offers almost always cost you money, like they want you to join Netflix or something like that. I have my own freebie website where I give out info on things like this, you are welcome to check it out.

Reply:Be careful. I filled out one of those questionnaires a couple weeks ago and now every day I have like 75 bulk email messages from different companies that I have to take the time to delete. The things they send me were the boxes I didn't check meaning I wasn't interested, but they ciontinue to send massive emails.
Reply:they are a rip off! don't bother to waste your time. get a proper job.
Reply:the biggest scam since lotto and lottery...
Reply:some of them are real and alot of them are scams if u have to put ur money into it then it could not be real u will have to check the BBB site and find out if it is real
Reply:online paid survey's are a rip off
Reply:listen to the peeps dont sign up for any of these if you do you won't have time to do the surveys, youll spend all your time trawling through your mailbox trying to find your personal mail. they are all a scam without exception
Reply:a scam
Reply:Any that ask for upfront money are scams. There are several legit companies that pay for on line surveys such as globaltestmarket.com but many are just after your money or email address. Do your research before you sign up.
Reply:If they ask for money its a ripoff! But I use www.treasuretrooper.com and it does pay.
Reply:Scams, they are nothing but thieves.!!!
Reply:Most pay very little for the amount of time and input that you have to give. You usually end up with no payment and hundreds of junk or spam email that just keeps coming back to haunt you.

You would be better off getting a part-time job on minimum wage.

The only site that I found to be worthwhile is for UK based people only and pays £4 per survey (approx 15mins).

see: http://www.pineconeresearch.com/

They are by invite only or by clicking on their rare advertising banners. There are forums on the web that specialise in telling people where their banners can be found.

It may take you a day or two to find an active banner of theirs but the rewards are worthwhile.

Sometimes you get free samples through the post to test and try before they hit the shops.
Reply:well there are paid survey sites. but there are alot of them out there that are scams also. and if they ask u money first thats totally scam. the sites that i know are paying sometimes they send u samples if you qualify age wise or what ever they are looking for as qualification and when u test it. and answer survey they send u a check. like i tested a lotion and i was paid 15$ and for cosmetics i was paid 25$ . there are some sites that ask u to do surveys and your points build up and when you reach certain points then you get a check. and how fast your points build up or if you get paid totally depends on the questions you answer and how you answer them.
Reply:They'r all a rip off. if u want to do something like that go to a sperm bank
Reply:Absolute ripoff!!!!

To qualify for anything you have to apply and be accepted to numerous schemes. Which COSTS MONEY to do.
Reply:i got paid in luncheon vouchers (£4) for every survey completed
Reply:I look at it like this nothing in this world is for free who give away the things they promise. don't get screwed stay away. Good luck and best wishes to you and your family.
Reply:some are scams but some are genuine.lightspeed consumer panel are a good one to try- they award you points which you can then redeem for vouchers-

in the last 3 months iv'e recieved 15pounds in boots vouchers and you can choose which vouchers you'd like each time.

if youre still after a cash incentive then try ciao, ive been registered with them for 3 months and recvd nearly 20pounds which i got them to put into a sainsburys online account i opened specifically for transferring payments

that way youre not handing over youre usual bank details,or any cash in advance and you'll get a statement to prove its been recvd

Is there really a website where I can get paid to take surveys without a registration fee?

I'm a student and I need some extra cash. I'd really like to take paid surveys, but it seems that anywhere I go there's either a fee associated, or its just a bunch of "just do this and then we'll send you your paid survey" and it never happens.

Is there really a website where I can get paid to take surveys without a registration fee?
Try SurveySavvy , it's free to sign up and you get paid to take surveys. I'm a member and it offers you a great opportunity to make a difference and earn money at the same time by taking research surveys online ~ I made $20.00 on my first survey and you also get paid for any survey your referrals take (the more referrals you get, the more money it's possible to make!!!)

P.S. They are a member of the Better Business Bureau!!

Reply:There are several.... NPDOR, Greenfield Online, NFO Mysurvey, American Consumer Opinion, Zoom Panel.

I have been involved with these survey companies for about a year and it takes a long time to earn enough money to make any kind of difference.

Some companies give you points and when you earn enough points you can get a check sent to you i.e. each survey taken earns you 5-50 points... it takes 1,000 points to get $10... the lowest amount of money they bother to send.

One survey company sends me test cigarettes and then sends or calls with a survey- I get a $10 check a couple weeks after completing the survey.

Then there's the problem of when you get an invite (delivered through your email) you don't always qualify to take a survey as they are looking for a certain demographic.

Also, surveys that ask what deal you want to participate in and offer a list of products and services with checkboxes are phoney survey companies. A legitimate one will never ask you to complete an "offer"--they will only collect info- not try to get you to buy something. So be aware of those.

There is no quick or easy money to be had with survey companies. While they can be fun... they are not very lucrative.

The only reason I joined was because it gives me something to do at work.... lots of down time.

Now I'm on Answers all the time and I have a bunch of surveys that I have to take but can't get off here!

Good luck and have a great day!!!!

Legitimate market survey companies such as Pinecone Research recruit members based on demographic characteristics -- e.g. mothers of babies 0-12 years old -- and will send surveys of products and services targeting this demographic group. Pinecone Research, however, pays only $5 per survey -- you're definitely not going to be rich with that. They can give you anywhere from 1-5 at most surveys in a month.

Other companies simply ask you to answer as many research as possible, and you don't earn anything just the chance to win at a raffle (which I find lame).

The article "Earning Money from Surveys" provide a short list of legitimate market research firms and contains explanations of what to look for when joining surveys (and weeding out the fraudulent ones)

Reply:Sorry, there are many schemes and scams out there that will have you filling out surveys for hours waiting to get to the end for a prize or cash....only to find out that in the end you have to buy something (which still doesn't guarantee you the prize or money.)
Reply:Yes there are. The problem is sorting out the reputable ones from the duds. The other snag is that very often you get paid in 'points' which are sometimes redeemable for cash but most often redeemable for selected goods and services. Also, it takes a while before they begin sending you many surveys - they need to know your reputability and reliability in answering surveys and they also need a quite detailed demographic profile from you initially.

If you are prepared to jump through their hoops, though, and fit the kind of audience they need to be answering their surveys, it can be a reasonable little side earner.

If I put details on here it would be advertising, but if you want to get in touch, I can give you more details.

ANyone know any good paid survey sites?

im looking for ones that pay and pay well. i found some that give a dollar or two and half way through the survey they may tell you dont qualify to get paid but are there any that pay good

ANyone know any good paid survey sites?
Personally, I have been doing surveys for over a year now and been getting paid monthly by check! My tip for making a good income is to join 3 or 4 survey sites, visit the home page regularly and putting in the time and effort..I spend about an hour a night (my free time) doing these surveys and I do make a good income! To try to be more helpful, I will post a link that I found from a previous answer! Of course, just don't expect to be a millionaire overnight!

There are sites and sites on the net for survey. So nobody probably could tell you that these are the only good sites and no other.

However here is a source which lists 10 reputable survey sites which you may look at and make your own decision.

http://www.right-info.com/surveys/bestsu...

Another source that you may look at is:

http://www.earningresources.com/makefree...

This shows you how you can make money for every friend you have thru 3 survey sites.

What I found interesting about this source was that it tells you in detail how you can apply this strategy safely and without being accused of spamming.

The webmaster has added one more site to the above list at his blog on

You get paid by this site for reading emails, complete offers, shop online, and take surveys. You'll also get 5 dollars just for signing up!
Reply:Best, legal and safe way to earn on internet is by joining paid survey sites. Paid survey sites pay you for your opinion on various topics.

Don’t pay for any survey program to join. There are many free to join paid survey like survey savvy they pay more then 5 $ per survey. Always check for on which site you are registering is BBB (Better Business Bureaus) certified.

You can check the website http://www.dollarmantra.com for survey list, affiliate programs and contextual ad program, get paid for reading email %26amp; surfing the web and more earning recourses.
Reply:The ones that offer to pay big bucks are usually scams. The only ones that pay reliably, don't pay very much. They generally operate on a point system - earn so many points for a particular survey, trade so many points for cash or raffle tickets or prizes. I once did dozens of surveys a year and earned $20. It's not a very investment of your time unless you really like giving your opinion - you really can't earn big money at it.
Reply:There are not many that pay well. but I recommend you to sign up with different companies and if you have time for many surveys. Here are some good sites that have paid me in the past: www.greenfieldonline.com (they have paid surveys $1- $10 and sometimes invitation to live group surveys where you can make $20 - $40), http://www.inboxdollars.com/?r=meziane67 ( at least a dollar a day per survey plus paid mail and paid search) , http://www.sendearnings.com/?r=meziane67 (same as inboxdollar), testspin.com, www.globaltestmarket.com. www.esearch.com, www.acop.com, www.opinionoutpost.com.

I also recommend mypoints.com where you can collect points by reading mails and redeem them for gift cards (saved me so much money with buying gas because I always redeemed for gas gift cards). these sites are all free - you shuld never pay for membership. good luck
Reply:The rule I go by is never pay for any survey site. Here is a good site that lists several free survey sites.

Reply:Treasure Trooper, http://www.treasuretrooper.com/281322, is a great paid survey site with multiple cash surverys, a daily $0.75 survey, cash offers, cash shopping, treasure hunts, and a forum with plenty of helpful tips.

Hits$4Pay, http://hits4pay.com/members/index.cgi?sa... is another great website. You get $10 to sign up and receive e-mails in an internal e-mail box that pays $0.02 per e-mail. Receive e-mails daily. It's not going to make you rich, but it will generate some easy money.
Reply:I've found quite a few that pay well. It took a lot of researching and testing sites out, but I have been able to find some really good ones. I made over $2,000 last month, and all of these sites are free to join.

Please see my profile for more information.

Thanks, and have a great day.

Is it really true that sites like paid survey etc does pay for a member filling a survey data?

Are sites like paid survey etc.com,really paying for a person filing survey data for companies,or the companies that really pays,or is rather a scam just to do away with your fee as a registered client.

I know because I worked for one of them. They are completely legit (if you get the right one) and they will not share your information (or should not).

Pinecone research, Surveysavvy, Greenfieldonline are some of the larger survey companies, who pay regularly . A list of companies you can join for free , with details of amounts you will receive as payment, is available at http://tinyurl.com/mx9ga
Reply:There isn't really a best ONE. I've been taking paide surveys for a while online (4 or 5 years now) and I've found that one site will be really active in sending surveys for a while, then other times other ones will send more. Basically, different companies use different survey sites to conduct their surveys, so to qualify for the most paid surveys its better to be signed up with various sites, not just one.

I've listed some of the sites I have taken surveys through and actually been paid (or recieved other rewards like gift cards or CDS) on the following site, if you are interested:

http://www.windhavenweb.com/surveys

I list how they pay you, what I like and dislike about them, whether they have an affiliate or referral program, etc.

I'll also ditto someone's suggestion of Global Test Market. I just recently signed up with them (so I haven't added them to the site yet) but they seem to be sending paid surveys really frequently, and will give you some points even if you only qualify for part of a survey.

There are others out there. Be careful though, there are also scams. Don't sign up for any survey site which asks you to pay to access the surveys. Also watch for language like "get paid for taking surveys AND SIGNING UP FOR OFFERS" if you don't want to have to sign up for stuff with other companies to get paid.

Always carefully read their terms of service and privacy policy. If in their privacy policy they say they only use aggregated info, this is GOOD SIGN they are legit. Aggregated info information that is grouped together so it can't be connected with anyones personal identification like name, e-mail, phone or address. That's what survey sites SHOULD collect. Avoid sites that say they give, rent, or sell any personal information (info that is not agregated) to third parties (unless you really don't mind getting junk mail, telemarketing calls, and spam).

Also just recently came across a good survey ratings site that I've found very helpful:

What is the deal with Get Paid To sites? ie Paid to Read, Click or Survey.?

I have seen several GPT sites (Get Paid To) lately. GPT Read, GPT Click, GPT Survey. If they actually come thru and pay you is it all legit?

Has anyone had any luck with these sites??

What about taxes?? They do not give 1099s.

What is the deal with Get Paid To sites? ie Paid to Read, Click or Survey.?
If they are legit and US based, they must ask for your social security number when you sign up because by law, yes, they must send out 1099. However, if you don't make enough to generate the 1099, then you are not going to get one.

Which brings me to another thought... when I sit here and read all these answers of people who have two-three-four different affiliate company links on them as recomendations, that makes me wonder.... if that person is making so much money, why do they have to join so many affiliates? And then - how on earth does that person have that much time to spend going from one program to another trying to make that money? One thing to think about also.... when you join, they receive benefit... that's pretty standard.

I recently wrote a blog, the link can be found in the second paragraph of my profile here... giving advice for people wanting to create additional income from home.... It's not a sales pitch and is all generic information. Before you go spend countless hours reading, clicking, for $.085-$20, you might want to read it as food for thought.

Been there... done most all of it.

Reply:There are several survey sites that are legit, your not going to get rich doing them though. Do not give anyone your SSN there are lots of sites out there that are legit and they do not need this info from you. Nor do you have to pay to join. I am a member of several. The one I have had the most luck with is Lightspeed. They do not pay you cash you get points which can be converted into cash via pay pal. However, they send me the most surveys. And already twice now I have been asked to participate in a more extensive survey in which I was sent a palm pilot in the mail and asked to record certain daily activities. The ones I have completed offered a $50 incentive and that was in the form of a check in addition to the points I received for completing the initial survey. I have also done survey savy which has a great referral program if you know people who will join you get money for surveys they complete. I have also tried American Consumer Opinion. They pay by check in mail for all surveys, but I have not been able to complete many of their surveys. I did a lot of research before joining these. You also need to be a regular email checker because if you don't respond to the survey fast enough they have met their quota. I am pleased with these sites and looking to join some new ones.

Most pay a few dollars per survey completed so it is best to use several. If you would like to give me a referral credit use the link in my profile for survey savvy and the other websites are listed there as well. Good luck!
